SONG OVERVIEW
This song, Carlo, was written by Tasmanian songwriter, author and consultant Jason Bresnehan and forms part of his Saints and Sinners series, a collection of twenty-seven original songs inspired by twenty-seven saints whose lives demonstrate overcoming and movement. The series is being developed into a companion book that combines song lyrics with concise saint biographies focused on each saint’s story, saintly movement and the obstacle they overcame.

St Carlo Acutis was born in London, England, on 3 May 1991 and died in Monza, Italy, on 12 October 2006. His saintly movement took place primarily in Italy where he used modern technology to promote Catholic devotion and create digital resources about Eucharistic miracles. His resting place is located in Assisi, Italy.
Carlo lived an ordinary life of school, friends, football and computers, yet his attention continually returned to God. He used technology as a tool for faith and helped make Catholic devotion visible to a generation growing up online.
Carlo overcame the modern tendency towards distraction and self-centred living. While many people use technology purely for entertainment, he used his skills to create something that helped others understand the Eucharist and deepen their faith.
When acute leukaemia arrived, Carlo faced suffering with courage and offered it for the Church. His movement continued beyond his death as his work and story reached a global audience. Carlo's short movement through earthly life showed that holiness remains possible in the digital age.
