PERSONAL CONNECTION TO JASON BRESNEHAN SONGWRITER AND PRODUCER
The inspiration for Fearless in the Brand of Me comes directly from the Parable of the Talents and the concept of Identity Truth.
One of the most important lessons I have learned through recovery is that God gives people gifts for a reason. Those gifts are real. They point towards who we are and how we are meant to contribute to the world.
For many years I used gifts such as strategy, communication, writing, problem solving and leadership primarily in commercial settings. Recovery helped me realise that the gifts themselves were never the issue. The more important question was where those gifts were meant to be directed.
Today I lean into those gifts far more confidently. Songwriting, writing books, helping people in recovery, consulting and speaking all flow from the same place. When God gives a gift, hiding it out of fear serves nobody.
The song is also a reminder to live in alignment with who we really are. Problems often begin when we try to become somebody we are not. Identity Truth means accepting the gifts that are genuinely ours and using them faithfully.
The message is simple:
God gave you gifts.
Use them.
Don't bury them. Give the glory back to Him and get to work.
