Written and produced by Tasmanian Songwriter Jason Bresnehan, Louisa, Run is a guitar-driven pop rock song that introduces Sophie, one of the recurring fictional characters within the Seventh Ribbon Music universe. Inspired by the energy, confidence and attitude of artists such as Avril Lavigne, the song follows Sophie as she intervenes in the latest relationship disaster involving her younger sister Louisa.
At its heart, the song is not really about the man. It is about Sophie. She sees the pattern, calls it for what it is and refuses to stand by while someone she loves keeps getting hurt. The result is a sharp, funny, protective and empowering anthem built around honesty, self-respect and sisterhood.
MUSICAL DIRECTION

PERSONAL CONNECTION TO JASON BRESNEHAN SONGWRITER AND PRODUCER
Louisa, Run marks the first major appearance of Sophie, a recurring fictional character created by Jason Bresnehan.
The character's name was chosen deliberately. Jason was drawn to the name Sophie because of its similarity to his daughter Evie's name and because it carried associations with intelligent, capable and confident young women. Sophie also draws inspiration from impressive women Jason has encountered through life, sport, business and popular culture.
Importantly, Sophie is not one person. She is a storytelling device that can be placed into different locations, professions and situations whilst remaining recognisably herself. Across every song she appears in, Sophie represents an empowered young woman who values truth, acts decisively and is willing to challenge bad behaviour when others remain silent.
In Louisa, Run, Sophie appears as the older sister many people wish they had. She sees the warning signs, recognises the pattern and is willing to turn up with the U-Haul if that's what it takes.
