PERSONAL CONNECTION TO JASON BRESNEHAN SONGWRITER AND PRODUCER
The inspiration for Make Up Your Own Mind came from reading reports that Bible sales have been increasing among younger generations in parts of Europe and North America.
What interested me was not the statistics themselves but what they might represent. Younger people are often portrayed as disengaged from faith, history and deeper questions about life. Yet there appears to be growing curiosity about those very subjects.
Rather than writing a song that tells people what to think, I wanted to write one that respected their intelligence. The song encourages listeners to investigate, read, explore and ask their own questions. Whether those questions involve faith, history, purpose or identity is ultimately up to them.
The central message is simple: if a question matters, take a look for yourself and make up your own mind.
